Goryokaku Tower will carry out cleaning of the observation deck windows at heights of 90 meters and 86 meters above ground.

As we enter the clear autumn season, the trees of Goryokaku and the Yokotsu Mountain Range begin to turn beautiful autumn colors. To allow visitors to enjoy the autumn scenery through clean windows, we will carefully clean the observation deck windows.

The cleaning will be carried out by a team of three workers riding in a gondola suspended from the roof of the observation deck. Using cloths and squeegees, they will clean each of the 315 glass panels by hand, covering a total area of 874.52 m².

This cleaning is carried out three times a year: before the spring holiday season, before the Obon holiday period, and before the trees of Goryokaku begin to change color in autumn. Visitors can watch the workers up close from inside the observation deck, making this a thrilling and unique sight.
